The Angling Development Board

Angling is recognised as a premier sport in the United Kingdom. As such, Sport England and SportsCoach UK have worked with the sport to ensure that it delivers the highest possible standards.

To achieve this success the three governing bodies of the sport:

• The National Federation of Anglers

• The National Federation of Sea Anglers

• The Salmon and Trout Association

have come together as the Angling Development Board (ADB). Since 1999 the three organisations have been striving to develop a first class coaching programme, backed by a kite marked licensing scheme similar to that of other major sports in the UK.

fishcoach.org is the name of the coach licensing scheme for angling. It has been appointed by the Angling Development Board and Sport England to manage the programme.
